(ET) Blower motor operational.
Worked on the blower last night; the rear bearing looked like someone
had hit it with a screwdriver or something, there was a deformation in
the race. Pulled the bearing, replaced it, then cleaned and oiled the
lower bearing to see how the motor ran.
Hint: When assembling the magnet sleeve to the motor be careful with
your fingers: The blades on the motor's internal fan are sharp and it's
easy to pinch a finger between a blade and the magnet as the armature is
pulled by the magnets.
Assembled the motor pulls 3 amps at 12 volts, spins cleanly and pretty
quietly, so I think I'll button it up and put it back on the bracket.
Then it can go in the shed till fall and I'll buy a 36 volt contactor so
I can turn it on and off from the mower switch.
Next up: Wheel for the trailer so I can get it off the driveway :-)
