This morning Jim Coate from Electric Tractor store showed up at my house
with a big load of... goodness! Jim's a nice guy, real, and it was fun
chatting with him about electric cars, my Magnecharger (still
operational) and all my Tractor stuff.
I now have in addition to my E20, E15 junker, tiller, blower, and
"stuff"....
Another E15 in really nice shape but needs a few things.
A vacuum blower like the one I had.
A pair of E20 motors to repair and use
Key parts for a Elec-trak cab
Key parts for the vacuum trailer (need the fabric and some pipe)
An original and fairly rusted trailer (looks like it sat ass end in a
pile of leaves for a decade)
A big plow blade and trip.
We hooked up the new E15 to my junker, and pulled it into the yard. I'll
need new front tires, need to rebuild the front axle and steering,
normal stuff like that. Nothing too tough, first I'll get 30 BB600's in
the front and use it as another doodlebug. Ultimately I'll put 90 cells
in total and use it when I want to have a nice looking tractor :-)
The blade hooked right up to my E15 after I got the lift working again
(fuse block needs to be sanded and cleaned up BADLY, and replaced the
lift switch). Then it was off to driving it in the back and trying to
ram it into debris. Got the E15 stuck but easily dragged it out of the
woods with the E20.
E20 has a much more powerful motor IMO.
Next up I'll get the motors working on the bench then tackle the blower.
I had to take the first one apart as well, needed new bearings and one
of the magnets had detached which is of course an easy fix nowadays
(never had a motor magnet fall off after repairing). So I'll get that
done, document it, and I'll be ready for the fall again :-)
Thanks Jim for having a spare and coming up to my house. It's fun to
meet other Elec-Trak owners, maybe we should have a meetup or something.
Chris
