I also was looking for an upgrade.  Decided to try these direct replacement LEDs:  http://www.m4products.com/1142-17-5630-nw-natural-white-elite-series-with-brighter-samsung-5630-leds-1142-1076-ba15d-base/

More lumens and less power consumption than stock.  Should arrive shortly & we'll see how they do.  May cut some clear lenses & see if that helps or not.

Has everyone tested a LED bulb replacement for the GE1076 or replaced the complete ET headlight assembly with a multi-LED unit?
