My New Idea EGT-150 is in some ways a newer version of your E-15. I seem to remember reading the EGT lift motor is stronger and runs on 36V. Can anyone verify? If true that might be the easiest upgrade.

Some of the EGT's did use a 36 volt motor. Those are hard to come by. Being a mid-mount, the EGT was set up with a different mounting system. The GE front mount version is such that doubling back the lift strap is a default option. GE recommended it for the heavy snow thrower; I double back for blades and mowing decks too.
