(ET) 12 Volt batteries!

Happy St. Patty’s day to all!

I have an opportunity to acquire 7 brand new Marathon M12V100FT AGM type batteries, for the taking.  The telco department in the company that I work for, bought these some years ago and had them in storage.  The batteries have a date of August 2001 on tags and have never been used.  Telco is dealing with a new vendor who told them to scrap recycle them, as they probably will not hold a charge.

Does anyone know the shelf life of large AGM type batteries.  My inclination is that the vendor wants to sell us his brand.

Thanks,

Bob K
