Some more info:
RAL 3011 is a very nice match to the Wheelhorse red
(lists at $6.75/pound from DuPont, 25 pound minimum)
RAL 2002 or RAL 2012 is somewhat similar to the orange (I-5?? or New
Idea??).
"Steel rack orange", a stock color from Tiger Drylac, looks like a
closer match to me.
For the ET yellow, there is no good RAL color match. RAL 1004 may be the
closest or maybe 1032, but again these really aren't that close at
all. After looking at the RAL colors, the GE yellow looks so dull that
I'm tempted to use something like RAL 1004 for a more pleasing looking
tractor, but then the purist in me thinks that getting the custom color
to match would be a better idea. I'd be curious what other people think?
For those wondering about the "RAL"... it is a European color standard,
so that RAL 1234 from DuPont or Tiger Drylac or any other manufacturer
will always be the same. It is also the same for different mediums of
powder, paint, etc. I suspect the RAL colors are more consistent than
the tractors paints were 35 years ago, and are certainly more consistent
than the tractor colors are now as no two ETs look alike today - even
those always stored indoors.
If I understand correctly, 1 pound of powder covers ~30 square feet.
Unfortunately the yellow/orange/red end of the spectrum is the most
expensive. The manufactures like to point out that these colors were
once made with various heavy metals (ie cadmium was likely in the ET
yellow) and now other materials must be used.

If I ever get my powder coating oven finished, it will be big enough to cure
the entire frame box of an E8 / E10 small frame ET. I have a parted out New
Idea EGT100 frame box that is in really good shape that I may try to powder
coat.
BTW, does anyone know the RAL number for the powder that most closely
matches GE yellow, or Wheel Horse red, or New Idea orange?
