I have 2 decks with small motor.  One with a handle and angle iron welded on, one without.  The one with the handle came with an E-20 built in 1971.

No, I have a real, factory installed handle on the front of my deck.
Also have a pair of angle irons welded to the deck, from the look of the
paint it appears to be a factory job.
