Multiverse Predictions for Habitability

McCullen Sandora
Blue Marble Space Institute of Science

Abstract:

In the multiverse framework, the probability of living in our universe depends strongly on the factors affecting habitability. Here, I evaluate the compatibility of the multiverse with multiple aspects of habitability, ranging from elemental abundances, planetary system architecture, stellar activity, and origin of life scenarios. This analysis leads to several predictions for which habitability criteria are correct, by determining which ones make our observations most likely. If any of these predictions are found to be wrong, the multiverse scenario can be ruled out, many times to a high degree of statistical significance.
